Overview

The Account Manager’s role is to build and create long-term relationships with customers, oversee assigned accounts, and develop new business from existing clients and actively seek out new opportunities.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Serve as lead point of contact for all customer account management matters.
  • Build and maintain strong, long lasting client relationships.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
  • Assists with preparing general & special conditions cost estimate.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts and with customer stakeholders.
  • Assists the Operations Manager when required.
  • You will be required to keep an updated pipeline activity report and summarize status updates with the team.
  • Your objectives will be to develop business while ensuring the highest quality in our ability to deliver products and services and meet our BPO obligations.
  • Although you will not have any direct reports for this position you are expected to ensure that our teams and associated supervisors are delivering outcomes as designed in our requirements to fulfill the BPO.
  • You will need to be knowledgeable and effluent with the BPO terms and conditions
  • Prepare reports and correspondence regarding account status.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. monthly initiatives, quarterly sales and annual forecasts).
  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs and objectives; perform necessary customer follow-ups.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
  • May assist in the estimating process.
  • Develops familiarity with company’s Cost Control systems.
  • Periodically acts as Planner on smaller scope projects, including directing all estimating efforts and interacting with key leadership throughout organization.
  • Assists the Operations Manager when required.
  • Performs related duties as required.

  • Ability to oversee multiple accounts at one time.
  • Access to work orders, purchase orders and job records.
  • Recognizes safety as a top priority of the organization.
  • Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Estimating Software.
  • Delivers professional customer service.
  • Adopts a teamwork approach and willingly supports co-workers.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration, Sales or relevant field.
  • Previous experience as an Account Manager is an asset.
  • Experience in an industrial setting an asset.
