Electrical Supervisor

The Field Services Supervisor (Electrical) supports PSL operations by coordinating, monitoring, improving and participating in electrical field services .The position leads and supports a team of qualified individuals toward safe and successful completion of tasks.

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all PSL electrical services
• Perform frequent reviews of staff work orders to ensure they are completed properly and follow-up communication is timely and appropriate
• Motivate technicians to perform to their highest potential through empowerment and by fostering a strong team environment
• ESA liaison re: applicable code, inspections, infractions
• Coordinates on site manpower for electrical service projects
• Supervises and provides ongoing support to field technicians
• Participates in various customer site visits
• Attends meetings with Vale contacts
• Assists to generate electrical estimates
• Troubleshoots various systems and equipment
• Participates in emergency / service calls, customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner
• Performs infrared scans / reviews
• Assists health and safety team with PHRs
• Participates in the training, coaching and mentoring of technicians
• Regularly perform work site inspections of technicians to support.
• Assists with progressive discipline, if required
• Provides advice to management re: trade specific areas
• Assists with sales and builds customer relations
• Participates in the on-call rotation (7days x 24hr)
• Reviews and interprets engineered drawings / plans
• Responds and follows up with customer concerns / questions

• Must have at least 5-years underground electrical experience
• Experience leading a crew 5 – 10 workers
• Assist with estimating
• Electrical service calls / electrical projects (are ESA permits required, etc.)

• Outdoors in 4 seasons – exposure to extreme temps
• Dusty, hot indoor industrial environments
• Industrial process areas – noise conditions
• Process areas with various fumes
• Areas of volatile substances – nickel carbonyl, CO, SO2, nickel dust
• Working at heights
• Office environment
• Travel long distances / consecutive hours of driving
• Working / callouts throughout night time hours – service / emergency issues
